When the Boys & Girls Club of Huntington Valley needed to turn out 4 mini-campaigns for a total of 12 spots on a single-day shoot with all the limitations of a budget befitting a non-profit organization, there was little room for waste. I was asked to come aboard as producer (and later as editor) to help create a shooting plan to ensure we had enough unique footage to avoid recycling shots between spots. Additionally, our day was limited by the club’s operating hours, making for an extra-short day that was crammed with onscreen interviews with parents and wrangling dozens of kids for both scripted and unscripted moments.
The resulting spots exceeded all expectations, overperforming in social media metrics, click-through rates, actual increased enrollment, and even winning a local non-profit advertising award. The club was so thrilled with the results, they brought us back to produce a separate campaign for their pre-school program.
